Your course is vocational and as such you will have the opportunity to visit a range of uniformed public services, notably the police services, to gain a valuable insight into the roles and opportunities within each service. This includes guest speakers and visits to and from the members of the uniformed public services, a one day personal development, team building and development visit in addition to a range of other off-site visits and expeditions linked to your programme of study.

Throughout the duration of your first year, there are three compulsory visits, each of which cost £20. Information on how to pay for each of these visits/ expeditions will be provided during induction week.

We also have excellent links with a wide range of employers in the public service industry, notably the police service, where you can discover a future career by taking part in a wide range of trips and visits. We also arrange a wide range of trips, including:

Practical visits and exercises with the fire, ambulance and police emergency services, experiences with the RAF, the Army, the Royal Marines and the Navy in addition to a vast array of outdoor adventurous activities including kayaking, rock climbing and fell walking to name just a few.

As part of the course students also take part in work experience/volunteering opportunities within a range of different uniformed services
