The enrolment process will be complete once you have attended Bishop Burton for your induction session, which will take place week commencing:

Please bring your own device if you have one.
At induction, students will receive their ID badge, a copy of their Learner Agreement and details about how to access their college email account, including their username and password (which they can change if they wish at a later date).
The college has its own Learning Resource Centre that houses an extensive collection of books and journals. However, from time to time, it’s useful to have access to your own copies. These are the top books that we recommend you have for your course:

Approximately 16 hours a week to include lectures, seminars, work experience, practicals and tutorials. Students are also expected to carry out a significant amount of private study in addition to contact time (25-30 hours a week). Part-time is also available. Students can expect to receive their timetables during induction week.
Before you begin your course, you’ll need to make sure you’re prepared with the right equipment. Many of our courses need specialist health and safety clothing, but we’ve made it simple - some of your essentials and college-branded clothing can be bought from our online shop.
For your course, you will need:
A tablet, laptop or stationery to take notes in lectures and seminars
USB stick and / or portable hard drive
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), particularly footwear, for trips and visits as well as overall for practicals
Waterproof clothing and footwear for outdoor practicals
College-branded white laboratory coat
The college has a strict policy of not allowing work boots inside college buildings – you will need to have alternative footwear (shoes or trainers) to attend lectures and tutorials.
A wide range of resources are available for use both on and offsite for dissertation projects but it may not be possible to purchase/service all requests therefore students need to be aware that they may need to self-fund some elements.
