One of the units on your course focuses on work experience. To achieve this unit you must complete the equivalent of 315 hours work experience relevant to your course. It can be completed on a weekly basis on days when you are not required at college and/or in a block during holiday periods. Previous students have gone on placements at environmental agencies, wildlife/conservation sites and various shooting estates.
Work experience is an essential component to extend your college
studies and develop your practical skills and knowledge in the Industry you are
wishing to enter in to. Also during the course, you will get the opportunity to
go on a range of visits beneficial to your studies.
This year, the course has been completely redesigned to mimic industry requirements, boosting employability prospects for graduating students. All our countryside provision allows the student to access the environment, explore and develop essential transferable skills and specialist knowledge needed to enter their chosen field of employment.
Before you begin your course, you’ll need to make sure you’re prepared with the right equipment. Many of our courses need specialist health and safety clothing, but we’ve made it simple - some of your essentials and college branded clothing can be bought from our online shop.
