This programme is built around gaining practical experience in professional environments - this develops confident practitioners and also meets the requirements of the Society of Sports Therapists, who are the accrediting partners for the programme. There are compulsory elements of work experience built into all three years of the programme working with sports teams in a 'pitchside' environment and working with sports teams and the general public in a clinic environment. In addition, students have to engage with an external placement whilst studying Level 6 of the programme (year three for a full-time student). There will also be numerous additional opportunities offered for students to gain further experience where and when appropriate.
Due to the clinical elements of the course and the importance of presenting a professional image, students are required to purchase Bishop Burton Kit (The cost will vary depending on the exact kit purchased; approximate cost £100).
A suitable electronic device, e.g. a laptop or tablet, with internet connectivity is required for accessing online learning.
A range of additional qualifications, short courses and study tours / trips may be offered at additional cost.
On successful completion of the programme, students have the opportunity to graduate at a ceremony wearing formal dress. The hire of the formal dress is an additional cost.
